144h & 240h Transit Guide — ChinaNeighbor

Why Transit Through Chengdu?

Chengdu is one of China’s most livable cities and the gateway to Sichuan’s legendary food and giant pandas. With Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (CTU), one of China’s newest and most modern aviation hubs, Chengdu is increasingly popular for transit.

Key fact: With 240h transit, you can travel within Sichuan province — which means you can visit the Leshan Giant Buddha (a 1,300-year-old UNESCO site) or the mountain monastery of Emei Shan.

144h Itinerary — 2 Days in Chengdu

Day 2: Food, Tea & Sichuan Opera

Morning — People’s Park & Morning Tea Chengdu’s most authentic morning experience. Join locals in People’s Park (人民公园) for a pot of jasmine tea and people-watching. The park has an old teahouse where you’ve been served the same way for 100 years.
