144h & 240h Transit Guide — ChinaNeighbor
Why Transit Through Kunming?
Kunming is the capital of Yunnan province and known as China’s “Spring City” — year-round mild climate averaging 16-18°C. It’s the gateway to Yunnan’s extraordinary ethnic diversity (26 minority groups) and natural wonders, including the Stone Forest UNESCO site.
Key fact: With 240h transit, Kunming is your base for exploring Yunnan’s highlights — the Stone Forest, Dali’s ancient city, Lijiang’s Old Town, and Shangri-La.
